The countdown to Nov. 8th...
Baby Maurer is running out of room at 37 1/2 weeks. She is kicking her mama like crazy and trying to find the way out. We hope we get to meet her soon!
Nesting?
At 37 1/2 weeks, I am pretty sure the past weekend's activities could be referred to as nesting. (Nesting is the term used to refer to an expectant mother’s instinct which gives her a surge of energy which prompts her to clean and do various chores around her home.) I was insistent that we get our kitchen painted and finish up organizing the nursery. I think the energy surges paid off, and Scott is a trooper for doing most of the work in the kitchen and for putting up with my craziness!

Baby Maurer has been fully showered!
On Oct. 9th, Jonnett's friends threw a baby shower for her and Scott. The shower was complete with a diaper cake, delicious real cake, secret baby photos of Scott and Jonnett, tons of great food, and most of all - lots of good friends who showered Baby Maurer with generous gifts. In photo (L to R), Tracy, Jeri, Jonnett, Teale, and Elizabeth. Thank you girls!
On Oct. 13th, Jonnett's coworkers gathered at work and helped celebrate Baby Maurer. Scott came over from the hospital to join in the festivities. We are very appreciative of the cute and generous gifts...again. And let's not forget the fabulous double-decker cake, made by cake decorater extraordinaire, Franny. She included a layer of our favortie - carrot cake!
Thank you to everyone for all the gifts and celebration! Baby Maurer is lucky to be surrounded by all of you!

From Drab to Fab - The Sequel
We thought we were out of the woods after ridding our lives of our purple nightmare of a bedroom. However, like Freddie Kruger, our vinyl kitchen floor and carpeted bathroom attacked us night after night, dream after dream for too long. So, finally, we decided that this baby can't come into a house with awful flooring...it would be inhumane. Fortunately, one of Scott's co-worker's husband makes a living off of flooring. Much to our surprise, the whole process was quick, painless, and affordable. Two days of work and the nightmare had ended! Stanley misses the carpet, but he doesn't pay the bills around here, so tough luck!
