Sisterly Love!

THIS girl loves her little sister. Above, she is at her "station" (i.e. the edge of the couch by the pack and play where we have set up a diaper changing area downstairs), and waiting not-so-patiently to help change Elise's diaper. Jane's job is to pick out the diaper (Cookie Monster wins every time) and hold the diaper cream.
As any visitor to our house might have already experienced, Jane is very generous with her stickers. Especially to Elise.
No words needed - so precious.
Jane can often be found in the bathroom washing her hands in anticipation of holding Elise (too bad asking her to wash her hands before mealtime isn't as cooperative). Clearly her smile says it all.

Who's who?

Can you guess who's who? Same age, same playmat, smiles all around!

Playtime!

Playtime is WAY more fun when there are two!
Jane declared, "I want Elise to come play with me and have tea."
Elise wasn't as happy when Jane also wanted Daddy to hold her baby and compare her to Elise.
Jane thinks Elise is fun now... just wait!

One month!

Elise has had a very busy social calendar. After Nana and Papa's visit, we welcomed Aunt Amy and cousin Lily for a weekend visit. They made the trek from Michigan to meet Elise...the first of many sleepovers for these cousins who are just 7 weeks apart. I think we might be in for some trouble in our future (especially with Jane and Claire leading the pack!)
It was a great weekend, most of which was spent like this - with the girls eating, then sleeping. The tired Mama's didn't mind though. We did manage to get out to the Phipps Botanic Garden too, where Jane showed Amy and Lily around.
After they left, Elise went back to what this girl does best - sleep. She and I have settled into a nice weekday routine, filled with lots of naps, laundry, nursing, more sleeping, more laundry, and cooking. Elise has been a really good sleeper for the most part, sleeping most of the day and 2-3 hour stretches at night. However, within the past week, this has stretched to 3-4 hours: YAY!

Last weekend was Elise's one month birthday, but she was busy as she and big sister traveled with us to Alabama for our dear friends', Jeri and Michael, wedding. It was great to visit with our Memphis friends and celebrate their marriage. The girls were expert travelers and LOVED the wedding! (Our hands were a bit full though, so no pictures from the wedding...)
Needless to say, Elise's one month photo shoot was a bit delayed, but alas! Today she had her one month check-up and she weighed in at 10 lbs 13 oz and 21.5 inches long. I think it is safe to say that nursing is going well. The proof is in her now chubby cheeks, thigh rolls, elbow dimples and big belly. She is no longer a newborn...she is a full-on baby!
