Faces of Jane

Jane has settled nicely into her new daycare. During the first few days, they were concerned that she didn't talk, and we told them to just wait, she likes to observe and then dive in. By day three, her teachers had more than an earful and were definitely not concerned anymore! At the end of week one, her teachers also shared with us that Jane likes to make a lot of funny faces throughout the day. Now, we've known this, because she makes lots of crazy faces at home and it cracks us up. The thing we didn't really realize is that this is a direct reflection of us -we definitely encourage, exacerbate this, spending many dinners making goofy faces at each other and laughing ourselves silly (often initiated by Jane, I might add!). Needless to say - we thought we'd share a few with you, plus some other great Jane pics from over the last month...which, for all you loyal readers out there, we promise to be better about sending you Pitt updates now that Scott and I are both settled into our new jobs...okay, no promises, but we will try! Now, let's take a look at that bella fache:

This is Jane's fishy. It goes everywhere with her. Big thanks to our good friend Dvorah for teaching Jane this gem of a skill!

This is where I typically find Jane's face these days - buried in her big girl cup! Yep, no more sippy cups for this toddler.

"What? I'm just getting ready for work with my badge and pager. Daddy, ready to go?"

"EEK" - this is probably Jane's favorite expression. A few of her favorite books (the Elephant & Piggie series and The Little Mouse, the Red-Ripe Strawberry, and the Big Hungry Bear) have characters who are often expressing "EEK" in the pictures. Gotta love Jane's demonstration:

Stay tuned for Faces of Jane: Halloween Edition. Jane does a mean Pumpkin face...

Wedding!

This past weekend we had the honor of attending the wedding of our good friend Kristy. Aaron, Kristy and Scott spent the late 90's rockin' Wittenberg's campus together as the infamous trio known as "SAK." Observe that we are in "SAK formation" above. It was so great to catch up with Kristy and to meet her new husband Nick. He is a lucky dude indeed. Also, how amazing does Kristy look? Absolutely beautiful!
Of course Kristy did not forget to invite Marilyn and Jimmy. Nana and Papa were all too pleased to take over Jane duties. Papa can be seen teaching Jane how to stick out her tongue. Thanks Papa.

After finishing Papa's cake, Janey moved onto Nana's. Is this a surprise to anyone? No, this child comes from two cake loving parents. It's genetic people! Note how nicely she is sitting at the table. Anything for cake.

Jane also showed off her dancing skills. She LOVES to dance. Here she is trying to get everyone out on the dance floor. I know, she's an introvert...just like her father. This dress was a gift from Karen (a co-worker of Scott's from St. Jude). She has worn it to many an event and it looks so cute on her. Thanks Karen!
And finally, we must, of course, share a picture of the happy couple. Janey could not get over Kristy. She called her "bride," all night and was simply obsessed with her. "Mommy, where bride go?" She could also be heard running around the reception hall yelling, "BRIDE!!!" Sorry Kristy, you lost your name for a day. Congrats Kristy and Nick!
