Since our last post, when Jane was packin' up, a lot has changed - we've moved...to Pittsburgh! We were a bit anxious about the move, as the movers said they would "pack and load" our house...in one day. Amazingly, the movers arrived on time at 8:30 am last Tuesday and 7 hours later, Jane was having a blast running through the empty house as we watched the moving van pull away. After an obligatory trip to Jerry's Sno-Cones (one last time), we loaded the cars up with our short-term essentials (mostly...Jane and Stanley!) and started our caravan to our first stop in Clarksville with Chris and Jill.
Even though we arrived late, Chris made sure that we would enjoy ribs one last time before leaving TN - thanks for grilling Chris! Before we headed out the next morning, Jane made herself quite at home in Jill's new spacious kitchen (

After the destruction, we made our way out of TN, through KY, and into OH, finally arriving at the Yosts' in Springfield, but not before we sang way too many rounds of "Wheels on the Bus" and "Itsy Bitsy Spider". With all the excitement of hanging out with cousins, we forgot to take pictures - but we had a great time (and Stanley enjoyed all the walks!).

On Thursday morning, we headed out of Ohio and made the short drive over to the 'burgh to arrive at our new home (that we are renting for a year). Of course the surest way to meet your landlord is to lock yourself out of the house 30 minutes upon arrival and just before the movers are scheduled to arrive (and, yes, Scott will want everyone to know that I,
Jonnett, take full blame for this!). But, in the end, it all worked out, the movers arrived on time (again), and four hours later all of our stuff had magically made it's way into our house...even Jane.

We really can't complain at all about our move, as it was quite painless. Jane was such a trooper and has transitioned really well. It took us just three days to empty out all the boxes and have a fully functioning house, luckily, just before the heat hit. We don't have A/C (yet), but coming from Memphis, we thought we had left the heat behind us. Not so much... Jane has been opting for the no pants look, but I can't blame her!

The one great thing about this house is that we have a
sunroom, which makes for a fantastic play area for Jane downstairs. (As a side note, Jane LOVES the stairs in this house and Scott had to promptly install some baby gates in order to reserve our sanity!). We thought Jane deserved some new toys for surviving the move. Here she is with her new shopping cart and groceries, which you will note are not in her playroom, but in the living room...

All in all, we are adjusting and enjoying the time together to explore our new neighborhood and new city. We have already made daily (sometimes twice daily) visits to the two nearby playgrounds, ice cream shop (not daily...just once!), fantastic park with lots of trails, and the obligatory "Beer Store". Let's not forget that one of the highlights so far of the move has been visits with our dear friends
Aaron and Karin, and their super sweet kiddos, Sam and Sydney. We are looking forward to lots of future play dates, since they live just five
minutes away!
And, to make it completely official, we got our Pittsburgh driver's licenses today (which, by the way, only took 40 minutes at the DMV...I'm still in shock!).
