Just a few days before Thanksgiving, Stanley gave us quite the scare. He was refusing to lay down for an entire 24 hours...meaning he didn't sleep a wink last Monday evening. At the vet on Tuesday, we ran all sorts of tests and came out expecting the worst possible outcome. After a second opinion by a surgeon at the emergency vet, it was determined that Stanley just had an abscess (mind you, a very large one). He stayed the night at the hospital, receiving good pain meds so he could get some sleep and antibiotics. Luckily, we were able to bring him home on Wednesday evening, allowing us to truly give thanks on Thanksgiving. In a few short days, Stanley was back to himself, gleefully playing with blue bone and playing tug-o-war with anyone he could entice.
With Stanley back at home, Jonnett's family traveled to Memphis and helped us celebrate the holiday. Grandpa Odom flew in on Wednesday evening to steal Jane away from Grandma Odom, who had already been enjoying Jane for a week!
Jonnett's sister, Amy, and brother-in-law, Frank, flew in on Thursday to try to claim the title of "Favorite Aunt and Uncle".
There was lots of food, hanging out, football, fighting over holding Jane, not too many leftovers (except for yummy Turkey soup...thanks to Scott!), and Dad even managed to win a game of Hearts. The Odom women enjoyed a few days of cooking. 
There were walks to help compensate for all the turkey and pumpkin pie!
Our guests did a good job earning their room and board by helping us rake and bag about 20 bags of leaves!
And of course, there was lots of snoozing, mostly on Jane's behalf.
Scott proved that he is "man enough" to sport the Moby Wrap. It provides a great hands-free option, allowing him to enjoy a beer while playing cards and providing a comfy spot for Jane to snooze. Although, check out the video below, as it really isn't meant to be a two person job. Rookies!

What a wonderful Thanksgiving! I'm so sorry about the Stanley scare and so so relieved to hear that he's back to his normal, lovey self! And Jane is just plain beautiful! She's already grown so much and we love all of the pics - keep 'em coming! We love and miss you guys! (And we're taking mental note of the hands-free option...) xo!
