Adventures in Dog-Sitting...

Stanley has a girlfriend. Her name is Bella. Usually, he goes over to her house when we go out of town without him! At Bella's house, Stanley has been known to chew a few of her toys, eat her food, drink her water, and knock her in the head with his tail. Stanley's not quite up on his girlfriend etiquette.

This weekend roles were reversed as Bella came to our house and Stanley is feeling the pressure... Although, based on the picture below, Stanley isn't too annoyed. They actually don't really pay any attention to each other, but Stanley is a bit jealous at times: he definitely notices when we are paying any bit of attention to her. Maybe his girlfriend etiquette will improve...

Extreme Makeover: Corn Palace Edition

When we visited the famous Mitchell Corn Palace on our cross-country venture in June, we both looked at each other thinking...this is it? Thanks to Dad for shedding some light on this with an article that he sent us recently. Apparently we weren't the only ones disappointed by the Corn Palace's sub-par appearance. Turns out a severe drought caused a one-year hiatus from the Corn Palace's annual redesign. Just our luck! I guess we'll have to make another trip...

All I want for Christmas is...

...a little red man that I can tear the head off of. Needless to say Stanley really enjoyed his new toy from the Yosts! He was uninterested at first (when it was still in the wrapping) because it didn't smell like anything, but then when he learned there was a squeaker inside...GAME ON.

And then 10 mintues later, Stanley was so proud of his kill...

Good work Stanley. And for those of you who might remember Sheepy Butt (another member of Stanley's list of carnage that stayed for many months after it's untimely death), it appears that little red man has taken his place. Stanley thoroughly enjoys dangling red man's mangled body in his mouth while rolling on his back. A true lab at heart!

Happy New Year to you all! May you find as much happiness in 2008 as Stanley!
